Smarter Insurance Through Real-Time Driving Behaviour Insights App
Miso Solutions is an InsurTech behavioural intelligence platform that uses smartphone telematics to help insurers better understand individual driver risk. It captures driving behaviours such as speed, acceleration, braking, cornering, phone usage, and journey patterns, translating them into driver scores and risk profiles.
By connecting real driving behaviour with insurance, Miso Solutions helps insurers make more informed risk assessments and offer more personalised insurance products. For drivers, it encourages safer habits while creating opportunities for fairer, behaviour-based insurance premiums.
Goals and Objectives
Miso Solutions came to Manao Software with a clear mission: to find an experienced technology partner to implement, test, deploy, and maintain its new native iOS application.
Miso Solutions already had the design and user journey in place but needed the technical expertise to bring the application to life. The key goals were:
- Track real driving behaviour: Develop a practical iOS app that can integrate with insurance platforms and capture each user’s driving data and patterns.
- Turn driving data into meaningful rewards: Collect and analyse driving data, translating it into driver ratings that can be used for points, rewards, or insurance benefits.
- Encourage safer driving: Give users greater visibility into their driving behaviour and motivate them to develop safer habits.
- Create a more personalised insurance experience: Help users engage more closely with their insurance and access products or benefits that better reflect their actual driving behaviour.

The app was designed to be practical, streamlined, and easy to use, providing all the essential functionality drivers need while removing unnecessary complexity. Key features included:
Sign-Up & Onboarding
A simple and secure onboarding experience that allows users to create a private account with standard security measures.
Location & Trip Tracking
Seamless location access enables accurate trip and driving behaviour tracking while maintaining a smooth, reliable user experience.
Dashboard & Trip Tracking
A comprehensive and interactive dashboard that gives users a clear overview of their driving behaviour. It tracks key metrics such as speed, braking patterns, distance travelled, and other relevant driving data across individual trips.
Leaderboard & Challenges
Real-time driving data allows users to compare their performance with other drivers through leaderboards and challenges. This adds an engaging, competitive element that motivates users to improve their driving habits and drive more safely.
Checkout & Insurance Recommendations
Driving data is combined with vehicle information, including car type, model, and year, to connect users with relevant insurance options. Based on their profile and driving behaviour, users can explore recommended insurance products, rewards, and other available benefits.
Challenges
The main challenge was the complexity behind each function, particularly the testing process, which required a different approach from a typical mobile application.
- Real-World Testing Requirements: Many core functions relied on navigation, GPS, and vehicle movement. Testing therefore required actual driving sessions to collect data, identify errors, and observe how the app responded to different real-world driving conditions.
- Complex Integration: Navigation, trip tracking, user data, and driving behaviour analysis needed to work seamlessly together. An issue in one component could affect the accuracy of other features, making careful integration testing essential.
Our Process
Manao Software worked closely with Miso Solutions to bring its native iOS app from concept to launch. Our structured development process ensured a reliable, user-friendly app built around Miso Solutions’s business goals.
Features & Architecture
With the design and user journey already established, we translated Miso Solutions’s requirements into a robust technical architecture, covering telematics, trip tracking, driving data, user accounts, and insurance-related features.
Design Implementation
Using Miso Solutions’s existing designs as the foundation, our team adapted and implemented the screens for iOS while ensuring a consistent, intuitive, and practical mobile experience.
Development
Development was divided into Agile iterations, allowing Miso Solutions to regularly review progress and provide feedback as key features were implemented and integrated.
Quality Assurance
Our QA specialists tested each development iteration, with particular attention to driving data accuracy, app functionality, integrations, and overall user experience before preparing the Beta Build.
Launch
Following final QA and refinements, we prepared the native iOS app for production and deployment, ensuring it met the required technical and functional standards.
The Applied Technologies
The project was delivered by a dedicated team of two developers and one QA specialist, combining mobile development expertise with continuous quality assurance throughout the project.
Result
Manao Software successfully transformed Miso Solutions’ existing design and concept into a fully functional native iOS application, completing development and launching the app on the Apple App Store within approximately 7–8 months from the start of the project.
